X-Men: God Loves, Man Kills Reviewed by Randy Jackson Written by Chris Claremont, Art by Brent Eric Anderson Publisher: Marvel ComicsSynopsis: The extremely popular Reverend William Stryker goes on a mission to eradicate mutants from the face of the Earth, and the X-men and longtime foe Magneto team up to oppose him. Good Stuff: It’s an interesting and good story for the most part. Claremont does a reasonably good job of examining the seeds of prejudicial behavior, and there are enough twists and turns to keep things interesting throughout. Anderson’s art is also extraordinarily solid. Not so Good Stuff: You know, the worst thing about this comic is that since it’s been printed, the same themes have been used over and over again and again ad infinitum. While that’s not necessarily the fault of this story, it does mean that the story hasn’t aged as well as it could. Also, I have to say the story is a little dry. Claremont has never been strong when it comes to injecting humor into his stories, and this one is no different. I give this book 7/10.
