Dazzler: The Movie Reviewed by Randy Jackson Written by James Shooter, Art by Frank Springer, Vince Colletta Publisher: Marvel ComicsSynopsis: This is the story of Alison Blaire, a.k.a. the mutant known as Dazzler, her whirlwind romance with Hollywood star Roman Nekoboh, his public outing of her mutant status, and the movie they made together Good Stuff: This comic is so bad it’s almost funny. No, it is so bad that it’s funny. Not so Good Stuff: Did I mention that this is a bad comic book? A notoriously bad comic book? Seriously, it’s decidedly not a high point of Jim Shooter’s career. To begin with, you’re starting with a character that isn’t very likeable, at least not at this point in her comic book existence. Compound this by surrounding her with other dislikeable characters, a laughable plot, and some not terribly sexy cheesecake art (I suspect, however, that Vince Colletta is more responsible for this than Frank Springer), and you have the comic book equivalent of an Ed Wood film. I give this book 4/10.
