JSA: Justice Be Done Reviewed by Randy Jackson Written by James Robinson, David S. Goyer, Art by Scott Benefiel, Stephen Sadowski, Derec Aucoin, Mark Propst, Michael Bair Publisher: DC ComicsSynopsis: This was originally published as JSA: Secret Files #1 and JSA #1-5. The Justice Society of America, pulled together around the funeral of the original Sandman Wesley Dodds, reunite to fight off the menace of Mordru the Merciless. Good Stuff: It’s pretty hard to screw this up. You have a good credible threat for a villain, and a small army of fairly interesting heroes to oppose him, and also in many ways a clean slate to work with. Robinson and Goyer do a good job of not going for the obvious choices as the primary heroes for this arc, and the assemblage of artists maintain a nice consistency throughout the book. Not so Good Stuff: It takes a fair amount of time for the true villain to reveal himself, and while there’s a fair amount of action prior, there’s never a true level of threat or menace up until Mordru makes his presence known. In other words, it’s kind of slow up to that point. I give this book 7/10.
